Meet the Artist
I am an artist from Preston in Lancashire who specialises in watercolour landscapes. I principally paint scenes of North West England including the glorious Lake District but I also find inspiration further afield.
I have always drawn and painted as a hobby and my wife and two sons will bear testimony that often on family holidays I would disappear to sketch and take reference photographs.
Over the last 10 years my watercolours have taken up more and more of my time and I have had to balance this with being the creative director at my Preston based Graphic Design Agency.
I have always been fascinated by water and the challenge of making water look ‘wet’. I find watercolours are the perfect medium to capture the shapes and effects water and its reflections make. You might notice that many of my paintings feature bridges as I am always drawn by the interaction of man made structures within the natural environment.
Although I spend quite a lot of time walking and seeking inspiration in the Lake District and rural areas of the North West, I am equally at home painting city scenes – especially of London.
Finally I hope you get as much pleasure from my paintings as I do in creating them.
